JY.R Workshop cellos are handcrafted by our richly experienced luthiers. The quality of workmanship goes far beyond this price range. The tops are made of good quality Asian spruce, and the back and ribs are made of aged maple (aged and dried a minimum of 5 years). Plenty of inventory of tonewood and experienced luthiers allow us to make various replicas of cellos made by the old masters, such as Stradivari, Amati, Maggini, Guarneri del Gesù, Rugeri and Guadanini. • Top: Two pieces of narrow grain spruce
• Back/Ribs: Well-flamed aged European 2-pieces maple,dried for 5+ years
• Bridge: Hand-carved Despiau, Aubert, Teller or Lide Bridge depending on luthier's choice
• Strings:We select from Pirastro, Larsen, Dominant ect. The strings chosen might differ depending on the characteristics of each instrument
